Using aerial photography for property marketing
Using aerial photography for property marketing is by far the most effective way of showing off an outstanding or interesting location, describing the entire surrounding area in an instant, and in a way that even a thousand words can’t hope to match. It doesn’t need to be a large country estate or an expensive listed property to benefit from aerial photography, particularly if the main selling point is “proximity to local shops” or within 15 minutes’ walk of the railway station”. All these scenarios are more effectively illustrated using aerial photos from a drone.
In the right hands a drone can produce unusual and outstanding images, even at relatively close quarters, and the layout and gardens can be seen at a glance. It is also a great way of avoiding the chief pitfall of ground-based property photography, empty skies which contribute nothing to the message. Video is even better, but even where margins don’t justify the production of an all singing, all dancing movie, a short clip of only a few seconds can add movement and interest to an otherwise very static subject.

Aerial photography for new build property marketing
One of the largest markets around at the moment is the explosion of new developments going up around the country as a result of the political push for affordable housing. Margins may be small, but given the fact that such developments are designed as a whole aerial photos can often show them in a much more positive light than ground level images, which tend to amplify the compact nature of the dwellings and layouts.
